Medvedev: U.S. Calls for Restoring Strategic Stability with Russia

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, commented on the updated U.S. national security strategy, indicating a potential shift in Washington’s approach towards Moscow.
Medvedev stated that the U.S. continues to ‘educate’ the European Union to remind them of who is in charge.
He downplayed the importance of the updated U.S. national security strategy but noted that Washington essentially admits that global peace no longer rests solely on America’s shoulders. Medvedev emphasized that Russia is a major global player, and constructive cooperation with Russia is more beneficial, as it was for many years before the Ukraine conflict.
Medvedev added that for the first time in recent years, Washington is openly talking about the need to restore strategic stability in Eurasia and improve relations with Russia. He believes the updated U.S. national security strategy opens a window of opportunity for dialogue between Moscow and Washington.
