Doha Forum: A Global Platform for Dialogue and Innovative Solutions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Doha Forum is a global platform for dialogue that brings together thinkers and policymakers from around the world to provide innovative and practical solutions.
The forum is held annually in Doha, the capital of Qatar, with significant domestic and international participation.
Launched in 2000 by the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the first session of the Doha Forum took place in 2001. It brings together policymakers, heads of state, and representatives from the private sector, civil society, and non-governmental organizations.
Since its inception, the forum has addressed important topics, with the participation of heads of state, ministers, and officials from the private sector and non-governmental organizations.
Doha has successfully become a global gateway for resolving conflicts, which has increased the country’s political weight and placed its dialogue platforms at the center of global attention.
Prior to the tenth session in December 2023, the forum had held twenty sessions, demonstrating its continuous operation since its establishment.
Despite the conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the forum was keen to hold its sessions virtually in those two years, involving a group of senior policymakers, experts, and researchers to discuss a number of pressing global issues.
Since 2018, the forum has been eager to launch a youth version, bringing young people together to discuss and present solutions to decision-makers and stakeholders.
The goal of the Doha Forum is to establish dialogue between participating officials and civil society, the media, and academic circles and think tanks.
Participants in the Doha Forum discuss and exchange views on important global issues and the strengthening of dialogue.
Each year, the organizing committee sets a theme for the forum. The theme for the 2022 session was “Transitioning to a New Era,” which addressed the geopolitical changes that took place in the world that year.
In 2023, the forum chose the theme “Building a Shared Future,” seeking to explore potential solutions to ongoing global disputes in order to build a better future for future generations.
