Hamas Signals Conditional Approval for International Force in Gaza

Hamas has expressed conditional agreement to the deployment of an international force in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing its commitment to the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement despite alleged Israeli violations. The group insists any such force must protect civilians and ensure stability.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas has indicated conditional acceptance of an international force presence in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem affirmed the group’s dedication to implementing the first phase of the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement, which concerns a ceasefire in Gaza. Qassem stated Hamas’s readiness to begin the agreement’s second phase, despite what he described as violations by the Zionist regime.

Qassem stressed that Hamas has no objection to the formation of an international force in Gaza, provided its role is limited to protecting civilians from attacks by what he termed “occupiers” and ensuring stability within the Gaza Strip.

The proposal for an international force in Gaza was initially part of a plan put forth by Donald Trump. The plan is now reportedly being implemented with the approval of the United Nations Security Council.

Trump previously stated that his primary objective in proposing the force was to prevent renewed conflict in the occupied territories and to disarm the resistance.

Palestinian people and resistance factions have consistently maintained that decisions regarding the future of the Gaza Strip should be made by Palestinians themselves.
