US Protests in Solidarity with Venezuela Condemn Military Intervention
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, thousands of people demonstrated across the United States in solidarity with Venezuela. The protests took place in over 60 cities.
The demonstrators waved flags, chanted slogans, and held up signs with anti-war messages. The protests came in response to the U.S. military presence in the Caribbean, which the U.S. government justifies as part of its efforts to combat drug trafficking.
Venezuela has condemned these actions as provocations aimed at destabilizing the region and violating international agreements regarding the Caribbean’s status as a non-militarized and nuclear-free zone.
Reports indicated that a large group of people also protested in front of the White House, condemning the potential U.S. military intervention in Venezuela.
President Donald Trump recently stated that he might soon launch a ground assault against drug cartels in Venezuela, saying, “Working with Venezuela is a thing of the past, and in a short call with Maduro, I informed him of certain things.”
