US Defense Secretary Dodges Questions on Potential Venezuela Attack

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth avoided answering questions from reporters about possible U.S. ground attacks on targets in Venezuela during an event in Washington, D.C.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth declined to address questions from reporters regarding potential U.S. ground attacks on targets in Venezuela during a recent event at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington.

Earlier, President Donald Trump had indicated that Washington intended to launch ground offensives against drug cartels in Latin America, a plan that was initially discussed following maritime operations against boats suspected of carrying narcotics since September.

The United States has also deployed military forces to the Caribbean Sea, near the Venezuelan coast, in preparation for potential action.

In response, the Venezuelan leadership has condemned these movements and warned that any military aggression against the country would be met with a strong response.
