China Adheres to Trade Agreement Commitments, Says U.S. Official

According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, China is adhering to the terms of its trade agreements, according to U.S. officials. Jamieson Greer, in an interview with Fox News, stated that the United States is consistently verifying, monitoring, and reviewing China’s commitments.
Greer emphasized the clarity of these obligations, noting that the latest agreements with China are tangible and easily tracked. He stated that compliance has been observed since the agreements were initiated.
Greer further revealed that China has fulfilled approximately one-third of its soybean purchase commitments for the current agricultural season.
In late October, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, and Xi Jinping, his Chinese counterpart, agreed to extend the tariff ceasefire, lift export controls, and reduce other trade barriers. Some provisions, such as soybean purchases and increased export licenses for rare earth minerals from China, remain in effect.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Jamieson Greer held a video conference with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng on Friday. The officials engaged in in-depth and constructive dialogue, committing to maintain stable relations and address trade and economic concerns.
Bloomberg reported that Scott Bessent stated on CBS News that China will not accelerate purchases but expects them to be completed during the current agricultural season. Soybean prices have reportedly increased by 12 to 15 percent since the agreement with China.
