US Congress Concerned About Rosatom’s Activities in Other Countries

The U.S. Congress is raising concerns about the activities of Russian state corporation Rosatom in various countries, seeking to increase nuclear cooperation with nations where Rosatom is active.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the U.S. Congress’s defense budget for the current fiscal year aims to enhance American nuclear collaboration with countries hosting Rosatom. The draft defense budget emphasizes the necessity of prioritizing engagement with nations where Rosatom maintains a significant presence.

The congressional draft seeks to diminish global dependence on Rosatom, urging the White House to scrutinize the impact of sanctions on the Russian armed forces. Furthermore, it prohibits entering into agreements with third parties cooperating with Russia’s energy sector or government.

Rosatom, a state-owned entity, operates in numerous countries and is recognized for its accomplishments in developing peaceful nuclear power plants worldwide.
