Iraq Election Results Officially Submitted to Federal Court for Final Approval

Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission has formally submitted the final results of the 2025 parliamentary elections to the Federal Supreme Court for final approval, following a review of all 853 appeals. Political negotiations among winning groups are expected to intensify upon court validation.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq has officially sent the final results of the 2025 parliamentary elections to the Federal Supreme Court for final confirmation, after thoroughly reviewing and addressing all 853 objections presented by the electoral judicial panel.

The electoral judicial panel has announced the completion of its review of all 853 complaints and objections registered against the election results, issuing its decisions on each case.

Previously, the Independent High Electoral Commission reported a voter turnout exceeding 56 percent, with 7,743 candidates vying for the parliament’s 329 seats as of November 18.

Once the Federal Court officially ratifies the results, political discussions among the victorious factions to form a new cabinet will likely gain significant momentum.

The Coordination Framework of Shia groups in Iraq, having previously declared itself the largest faction, is expected to nominate its candidate for the prime minister’s post in order to facilitate the formation of the new cabinet.
