Ukrainian Sukhoi Su-27 Shot Down; Pilot Confirmed Dead
A Ukrainian Air Force pilot was killed after his Sukhoi Su-27 fighter jet was shot down during a combat mission, according to Ukrainian military officials. The incident occurred on December 8, 2025, in eastern Ukraine.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the death of a Sukhoi Su-27 pilot in a Telegram post on Monday.
The statement indicated that Lieutenant Colonel Yevhen Vitaliyovych Ivanov, a senior navigator of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade, died “during an operation… at noon on December 8, 2025, in the eastern direction while performing a combat mission in a Sukhoi Su-27 aircraft.”
Russian air defense systems are reported to have downed the Ukrainian fighter.
