EU Reportedly Seeks to Intervene in Lebanon, Disarm Hezbollah

The European Union is reportedly seeking to intervene in Lebanon’s internal affairs and disarm Hezbollah, according to a document published by Reuters. This initiative comes amid ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanese territories despite a ceasefire agreement.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a document prepared by the EU’s political section and distributed among its 27 member states reveals plans for consultations with Lebanese officials to pursue the disarmament of Hezbollah.
A delegation is scheduled to visit Lebanon in early 2026 to bolster the Lebanese army in an effort to disarm Hezbollah.
A meeting between EU and Lebanese officials is slated to occur in Brussels on December 15.
