Reporters Without Borders: Israel Worst Enemy of Journalists, Killing Dozens in Gaza

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has condemned Israel as the leading perpetrator of violence against journalists worldwide. The organization’s recent report details the killing of 60 journalists globally over the past year, nearly half of whom were allegedly killed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.
RSF emphasized that the number of journalists killed between December 1, 2024, and December 1, 2025, has increased due to the actions of armed forces and organized crime groups. The report asserts that these journalists are not simply dying but are being deliberately targeted.
Anne Bocandé, editor of Reporters Without Borders, attributed the situation to the spread of hatred towards journalists and the prevailing impunity for those who commit crimes against them. She called on governments to prioritize the protection of journalists and cease targeting them.
The international organization’s report identifies Israel as the foremost enemy of the media, stating that the Israeli army killed 29 media personnel in the Palestinian territories in the last 12 months. Since the start of the Gaza conflict in October 2023, at least 220 media workers have been killed in the region.
The editor of Reporters Without Borders stated that those who commit crimes against media professionals attempt to justify their actions by discrediting journalists. She asserted that journalists are intentionally targeted because they report the truth to the world, and that there are no stray bullets in these instances.
