European Leaders Urge Zelensky to Reject US Peace Plan Without Strong Security Guarantees

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, European leaders have cautioned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky against accepting a proposed U.S. peace plan without robust security assurances. The recommendation was reportedly made during a phone call last week, according to the Wall Street Journal.
While the identities of the other European leaders involved in the call have not been disclosed, they emphasized that any U.S. peace plan must include clear security guarantees to prevent a recurrence of conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Earlier, on December 7, Zelensky discussed future steps towards resolving the Ukrainian crisis in a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Dmitry Polyansky, Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, stated at a Security Council meeting that European countries supporting Ukraine are undermining joint Russian-U.S. efforts to resolve the crisis.
The United States is reportedly seeking to end the war by pressuring Ukraine. The European Union and other Western countries allegedly view Washington’s actions as aligning with Russia and have opposed the details of the White House’s proposed peace plan.
