South Korea Scrambles Fighter Jets After Detecting Russian and Chinese Military Aircraft

South Korea deployed fighter jets on Tuesday after detecting nine Russian and Chinese military aircraft entering its air defense identification zone (KADIZ) without prior notice. Seoul maintains that no airspace violations occurred.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, South Korea’s military scrambled fighter jets after identifying nine military aircraft from Russia and China entering its air defense identification zone.

The South Korean military reported that the Chinese and Russian aircraft entered the KADIZ on Tuesday without any prior notification, prompting the response from Seoul.

According to reports, Seoul dispatched fighter jets after seven Russian and two Chinese military planes entered the KADIZ.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff in Seoul stated that the Russian and Chinese aircraft entered the KADIZ around 10 a.m. local time.

South Korea acknowledged that none of the Russian or Chinese aircraft violated South Korean airspace.

Seoul stated that it launched fighter jets to undertake tactical measures in preparation for any potential scenarios in response to the incident.
