OIC Condemns Israeli Raid on UNRWA Headquarters in Jerusalem
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the OIC issued a statement following the Israeli military incursion into the compound of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in occupied Jerusalem.
The OIC characterized the raid as a “blatant violation of the UN Charter and its relevant resolutions.”
The organization further stated that the event was a “serious infringement of the legal orders issued by the International Court of Justice regarding UNRWA” and represents a continuation of Israel’s violations of the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations, which guarantees the protection of UNRWA headquarters, personnel, and facilities.
The OIC reiterated its call for the international community to take immediate action to halt these systematic actions aimed at undermining UNRWA’s mission and vital role.
The organization emphasized that these actions are in line with the occupying regime’s efforts to eliminate the issue of Palestinian refugees and their right of return.
The OIC also called for full political, legal, financial, and humanitarian support for UNRWA to ensure the agency’s continued provision of services to Palestinian refugees.
