Chinese Firm to Build Solar Panel Factory in Pakistan

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hebei Johang, a Chinese company, is prepared to launch a major solar panel factory in Pakistan, according to Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper.
During a meeting with Pakistani officials, Wang Jianbin, a representative of Hebei Johang, expressed the company’s interest in investing several billion dollars in solar energy and advanced technologies.
Pakistan’s Minister of Investment, Qaisar Ahmed Sheikh, welcomed the Chinese investment in green and job-creating industries, stating that Islamabad and Beijing have a strategic partnership.
Relations between China and Pakistan have improved significantly in recent years. Beijing has consistently stated that it considers Islamabad a strategic partner in the region and desires to increase investment in the country.
Pakistan has utilized its relations with China to develop its economy and as leverage in its relations with India and the United States.
