Iraqi Coalition: Al-Sudani Unlikely to Secure Second Term as Prime Minister

The State of Law Coalition in Iraq has reportedly decided against offering Mohammed Shia al-Sudani a second term as prime minister, according to a member of the coalition.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Coordination Framework coalition has resolved not to support Mohammed Shia al-Sudani for a second term as Iraq’s prime minister.

Zuhair al-Jalbi, a member of the State of Law Coalition, stated that the next prime minister would likely be someone close to the winning factions within the coalition.

Al-Jalbi emphasized that Iraq requires a prime minister trusted by both the resistance groups and the political factions that emerged victorious in the elections.

He also alleged that the United States and certain political lobbies are openly interfering in the process of selecting Iraq’s future prime minister. Al-Jalbi predicted increased political activity in the coming days aimed at electing both a president and a prime minister.
