Former Bolivian President Luis Arce Arrested in La Paz
Former Bolivian President Luis Arce Catacora, who held office from 2020 to 2025, has been arrested in the Sopocachi neighborhood of La Paz, according to former cabinet minister Maria Nila Prada.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, former Bolivian President Luis Arce Catacora was arrested. Maria Nila Prada, a former Bolivian cabinet minister, confirmed the arrest of Arce, who served as president from 2020 to 2025.
Prada stated that Arce was apprehended in the Sopocachi neighborhood of La Paz.
The reason for the arrest has not been officially disclosed, but some reports suggest it is related to allegations of embezzlement and misuse of public funds.
