Cuba Condemns US Action as Piracy Against Venezuela

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Cuba’s Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, has denounced the United States’ actions as “piracy” following the seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker. Rodriguez emphasized that the seizure represents a flagrant violation of international law and norms of free trade.
Rodriguez stated that the U.S. government’s escalatory actions against Venezuela are unacceptable. He argued that the U.S. conduct contradicts the principles of free commerce and the free movement of ships, constituting a clear breach of international regulations.
Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the tanker’s seizure in the Caribbean Sea, describing it as an act of maritime piracy. The ministry urged the international community to reject the United States’ behavior as a form of political coercion.
Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday that American forces seized the oil tanker on the pretext that it was subject to sanctions.
