Maduro Vows Venezuela Will Never Surrender Amid US Sanctions

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has declared that his nation will never surrender to external pressures, despite facing threats and sanctions. This statement comes as the U.S. government intensifies its sanctions regime against Caracas.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has vowed that the people of Venezuela will not yield to external pressures, despite ongoing threats and sanctions from the United States.

“The imperialists thought our people would give in, but no one here has surrendered and will never surrender, because our nation is courageous, creative and progressive,” Maduro stated.

He further asserted that external powers seek to exploit Venezuela’s resources, saying, “Imperialism wants to plunder Venezuela’s oil, bitumen, and gas, but we say: Thief! Get away from here.”

The U.S. government has recently imposed new sanctions targeting relatives of President Maduro, according to reports. These actions include the sanctioning of six Venezuelan oil tankers.

The sanctions were implemented following the seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker in a coordinated operation involving the U.S. Coast Guard, FBI, and Homeland Security. Donald Trump, the current President of the United States, confirmed the seizure, describing it as the largest such action under U.S. sanctions enforcement. A White House spokesperson indicated that the U.S. intends to confiscate the tanker and redirect it to an American port.
