Gaza Endures Harsh Winter Night: 10 Palestinians Dead Amid Heavy Rains and Cold

Heavy rains, severe cold, and storms have created a dire situation in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 Palestinians in the last 24 hours as homes collapsed and tents flooded.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, residents of the Gaza Strip are enduring another harsh and grueling night amidst heavy rainfall, severe cold, and storms. Palestinian sources report that at least 10 Palestinians have died in the past 24 hours due to rain, collapsing walls, flooded tents, and extreme cold, with dozens more injured.

The Gaza Strip’s relief and emergency services announced that five Palestinians were killed in the collapse of a house wall in the Bir al-Naajah area of Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip. Sources added that a baby girl in the Al-Shati camp, west of Gaza City, died from extreme cold.

The collapse of a wall onto tents housing displaced persons near a shopping center in western Gaza City resulted in one death and one injury. Two Palestinian children were also injured when a tent flooded in the Abu Jabal camp in the Al-Amadi area, west of Gaza City.

The situation in the Khan Younis camps is catastrophic, with hundreds of thousands of people living in tents despite the heavy rain and freezing temperatures. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has stated that living conditions in Gaza have worsened due to heavy rains and the difficult conditions resulting from the ongoing Israeli operations over the past two years.
