Ayatollah Sistani Resumes Public Meetings After Recovering from Flu

Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, the leading Shia cleric in Iraq, has resumed public meetings after recovering from influenza, marking the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Zahra.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani met with a group of people on Friday after recovering from a bout of influenza. The meeting coincided with the anniversary of the birth of Hazrat Fatima Zahra.

The office of Ayatollah Sistani released a statement announcing the meeting, extending congratulations to the public on this auspicious occasion. Ayatollah Sistani expressed his hopes that God would keep everyone steadfast in their loyalty to the Ahl al-Bayt and guide them on their path, while also granting them continuous health and well-being.

On December 5, a source close to Ayatollah Sistani’s office had announced the temporary suspension of meetings with the Ayatollah, confirming that he was in good health and receiving full medical care. The statement urged well-wishers to remain assured and disregard any rumors.
