Ukraine Claims Russian Attack Hits Turkish-Flagged Vessel in Black Sea Port

Ukrainian officials allege that a Russian military strike has hit a Turkish-flagged ship in the port of Chornomorsk, marking a potential escalation in the ongoing conflict and raising concerns about maritime security in the Black Sea.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister stated on Friday that Russian forces attacked two Ukrainian ports, claiming that one of the strikes hit a vessel flying the Turkish flag.

The Deputy Prime Minister accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, asserting that the attack on the Turkish ship occurred within one of Ukraine’s port facilities.

President Volodymyr Zelensky also commented on the incident, stating that a civilian ship was destroyed in the port of Chornomorsk. Zelensky argued that the aerial assault demonstrates Moscow’s lack of commitment to diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

President Zelensky added that discussions are ongoing with American counterparts regarding a potential peace plan for Ukraine. He also noted that a Ukrainian military delegation is in Germany, negotiating details related to security guarantees for the country.
