Germany Condemns Israeli Settlement Expansion in West Bank

Germany has strongly condemned Israel’s decision to construct over 750 new settlement units in the West Bank, emphasizing the violation of international law.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the German Foreign Ministry has released a statement expressing Berlin’s “firm” opposition to Israel’s plan to build more than 750 new settlement units in the West Bank.

The statement stresses that settlement construction violates international law and UN Security Council resolutions, undermining the two-state solution.

The German Foreign Ministry also called for an immediate halt to settlement construction, declaring that it will not accept any formal or de facto annexation of Palestinian territories.

The ministry concluded by noting that it will not recognize any changes to the June 4, 1967 borders without the agreement of both parties.

The Israeli cabinet approved the construction of 19 new Zionist settlements in the West Bank on Friday, declaring this aggressive and occupying action legal.

Channel 14 of the Israeli regime reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet approved a request from Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to organize 19 settlements in the occupied West Bank.

According to the report, some of these Zionist settlements are completely new, while others already exist and will be organized; including the settlements of “Ganim” and “Kadim,” which were evacuated in 2005 along with the dismantling of settlements in the Gaza Strip.
