Gaza Faces Catastrophic Conditions After Rainfall and Flooding

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Gaza is facing a catastrophic situation due to recent heavy rainfall and flooding. The situation is dire for displaced families as essential medical and food supplies are scarce.
Mohammad Abu Aisha, director of medical relief in Gaza, told Al Jazeera that the situation in Gaza is extremely difficult due to the heavy rain and flooding. He added that the occupiers are delaying the entry of essential medical and health items, necessitating immediate international intervention. Abu Aisha emphasized the severe shortage of food supplies in Gaza.
Palestinian sources reported that fourteen Palestinians, including six children, have died due to the cold and drowning as a result of the ongoing impact of Storm Byron. Additionally, over fifteen homes have collapsed in various areas of Gaza City.
Hospitals in Gaza report that displaced families residing in worn-out tents are struggling to protect their children from the intense cold and torrential rains with minimal resources.
An Al Jazeera correspondent reported that a multi-story building in the Beit Lahia area in northern Gaza collapsed, but there were no casualties. Rescue forces recovered the bodies of four Palestinians, including two children, from under the rubble of a collapsed house in the Bir al-Naaja area in northern Gaza.
Since Thursday, hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians across the Gaza Strip have been enduring extremely harsh conditions in fragile and vulnerable tents. The Gaza government media office reports that heavy rains, floods, and strong winds have submerged, overturned, or dislodged over 27,000 tents of displaced persons.
