U.S. Forces on High Alert After Attack in Syria

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, American forces stationed at several bases in Syria, particularly in Al-Hasakah, Deir ez-Zor, and other areas, are under heightened readiness following a recent attack in Palmyra.
Syrian sources suggest that American military personnel fear the Palmyra incident could signal the beginning of further assaults against them. Reports indicate that the perpetrator of the attack was allegedly affiliated with al-Julani and had infiltrated his security apparatus.
The Wall Street Journal, citing a U.S. officer, provided details of the attack on American troops in Palmyra, stating that it occurred during a meeting between an American officer and a Syrian Interior Ministry official in the city.
According to the report, a lone gunman emerged from a window and opened fire, prompting a response from both American and Syrian forces, resulting in the assailant’s death. The attack resulted in casualties among the American military personnel.
