Hamas Leader: Recognition of Palestine a Consequence of Al-Aqsa Storm

Osama Hamdan, a leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), stated that global recognition of Palestine is a direct outcome of the Al-Aqsa Storm operation. Hamdan emphasized Hamas’s commitment to resisting occupation and defending Palestinian rights.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas leader Osama Hamdan emphasized that global recognition of Palestine stems directly from the Al-Aqsa Storm operation. Speaking with Al Jazeera, Hamdan asserted that Hamas represents a historical continuation of the Palestinian people’s decades-long struggle, steadfastly resisting occupation for the past four decades.

Hamdan highlighted Hamas’s influential role in Palestinian affairs, stating that the movement has been a significant force in the Palestinian cause since its inception, consistently acting with national spirit.

He stated that the Palestinian people have been resisting for nearly a century, and the Zionist occupation regime relentlessly attempts to distort the image of resistance through various means.

Hamdan affirmed Hamas’s right to respond to repeated ceasefire violations by the Zionist regime.

Regarding ongoing negotiations, Hamdan mentioned discussions with counterparts in Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey concerning the second phase of a ceasefire agreement, accusing the occupation regime of persistently sabotaging the agreement.

Addressing mechanisms for guaranteeing ceasefire implementation, Hamdan clarified that Palestinian groups would only accept the presence of an international force as a guarantor of the ceasefire agreement, without any executive authority or direct contact with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

He further stated that a national will exists among Palestinians to end internal divisions, but the occupation regime opposes unity or agreement among Palestinians.

Hamdan stressed that the occupation regime does not differentiate between Palestinian groups and movements, considering all of them as enemies.

The Hamas leader urged Jews worldwide to explicitly declare that Israel does not represent them and that Netanyahu embodies a racist, terrorist project.

He also noted that since the ceasefire agreement, over 400 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been martyred due to violations by the Zionist regime.

Hamdan concluded by stating that the martyred commander, Raed Saad, dedicated his life to the Palestinian cause and defending his land and homeland, reiterating Hamas’s commitment to resistance, particularly armed resistance.
