US Envoy: Significant Progress Achieved in Berlin Talks on Ukraine

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Steve Witkoff, envoy for US President Donald Trump, reported in-depth discussions in Berlin concerning a peace initiative for Ukraine, economic dossiers, and a range of other pertinent subjects.
Witkoff indicated that considerable advancement had been made during the negotiations, with parties scheduled to reconvene on Monday morning.
On Sunday, December 14, 2025, amid ongoing talks to resolve the Ukrainian crisis under the Trump plan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and chief Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov arrived at the German Chancellery. Concurrently, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, envoys from the Trump administration, also entered the Chancellery.
Ahead of his visit to Berlin, Zelensky announced Ukraine’s willingness to forgo NATO membership if a mutually agreeable solution could be found. He stipulated, however, that this concession would only be considered if Ukraine received the necessary security guarantees against potential renewed Russian aggression.
