Far-Right Candidate José Antonio Kast Wins Chilean Presidential Election

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, José Antonio Kast has secured victory in the Chilean presidential election. The official results from the second round of voting show Kast winning with 58% of the vote, with his opponent conceding defeat.
After over 10 million votes were tallied, representing approximately 70% of the total votes cast, Kast held a clear lead over his rival, Jant Khara, a member of the Communist Party and leader of a broad left-wing coalition.
Khara, 51, acknowledged her defeat in a social media post, congratulating the president-elect and wishing him success.
Kast, a conservative Catholic, focused his campaign on combating crime and pledged to deport approximately 340,000 illegal immigrants, primarily Venezuelans.
He has openly supported the military dictatorship, stating that he would have voted for Pinochet if he were alive.
In the first round of elections on November 16, both candidates received about a quarter of the votes, with a slight advantage for the left. However, the combined right-wing candidates managed to secure 70% of the total vote.
