Sudan Conflict Displaces Hundreds in South Kordofan as Fighting Intensifies

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, ongoing clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), along with their ally the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu, have intensified, causing a fresh wave of displacement in South Kordofan.
The International Organization for Migration has described the situation in Qadir as “very tense and unstable,” stating that it is closely monitoring the displacement trends.
Earlier, the organization reported the displacement of an additional 905 individuals from the towns of Kadugli and Dilling, as well as the village of Al-Kuwayk, all located in eastern South Kordofan.
United Nations estimates indicate that over 41,000 people were forced to flee their homes in the states of North and South Kordofan during the month of November alone, due to escalating violence.
The Kordofan region, comprising North, West, and South Kordofan states, has witnessed heavy fighting between the army and the RSF in recent weeks, resulting in the displacement of tens of thousands of people.
Nationwide, the RSF maintains full control over five states in the Darfur region, with the exception of certain areas in North Darfur still under army control. The Sudanese army controls 13 other states, including the capital, Khartoum.
