Sydney Muslim Citizen Thwarts Netanyahu’s Plans After Synagogue Attack

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Australian authorities are investigating the recent armed attack on a Jewish Hanukkah ceremony in Sydney as a criminal act. However, Israeli officials quickly attempted to link the attack to claims of anti-Semitism and recognition of a Palestinian state.
Ratel Junaid, head of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, emphasized that the attack should be examined apart from political objectives. Junaid stated that any attack on civilians is unacceptable and has been widely condemned within Australia. He added that the approach taken by the Israeli cabinet aligns with its established policy of linking any incident to anti-Semitism.
Israel affairs expert Mohannad Mustafa said that Netanyahu aims to exploit the attack politically by connecting it to protests against the Gaza war and the alleged genocide of Palestinians. However, the details of the incident, including the intervention of a Muslim citizen who saved lives and disarmed one of the assailants, thwarted Netanyahu’s plans. This act contradicts the Israeli government’s claims and diminishes Tel Aviv’s media campaign to portray a rise in global anti-Semitism. Tel Aviv frequently attempts to associate criticism of its policies with anti-Semitism, a tactic that has diminished the term’s impact in Western public opinion.
