Sudan’s Burhan Visits Riyadh Amid Regional Diplomacy

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan‘s Transitional Sovereignty Council, traveled to Riyadh today, Monday, at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman, Deputy Governor of the Riyadh Region, along with other senior Saudi officials, welcomed al-Burhan at King Khalid International Airport.
The visit occurs amid ongoing regional diplomatic activities concerning the situation in Sudan.
Previously, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atti and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan discussed the situation in Sudan via telephone.
Since April 2023, forces loyal to General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the commander of the Sudanese army, have been engaged in conflict with forces under the command of Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, commander of the Rapid Support Forces, also known as Hemedti. The conflict has resulted in numerous casualties and the displacement of approximately 13 million people, creating one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
