Hamas Declares Palestinian Forces Will Control Gaza Security
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas has stated that Palestinian forces will manage Gaza and its security. Hussam Badran, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, told Sputnik that Palestinians will take responsibility for internal security in the Gaza Strip.
Badran added that external parties would be limited to monitoring the borders of the occupied territories. He noted that all Palestinian groups share a unified stance on the presence of foreign forces in the Gaza Strip, agreeing only if their mission is strictly limited to monitoring ceasefires and borders.
“The administration of the Gaza Strip will be independently managed by Palestinians in cooperation with a committee of experts,” Badran stated, emphasizing that international forces will have no role in this regard. Hamas prefers that forces be dispatched from countries that are friendly to and supportive of the Palestinian people.
Badran also stated that no country appears willing to actively participate in sending forces. This contrasts with claims made by Donald Trump, who previously asserted that 59 countries had expressed their readiness to do so.
