EU Establishes Commission to Address War Damage Claims Against Russia

The European Union has announced the formation of a commission dedicated to processing claims for war damages inflicted by Russia. The move comes as the EU seeks to hold Russia accountable for the devastation caused in Ukraine.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the EU‘s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, announced the establishment of a commission to address war damage claims against Russia. In a statement released on social media platform X, Kallas asserted that Russia would not evade responsibility for the costs associated with the destruction of homes, schools, and hospitals.
Kallas stated that the commission, based in The Hague, represents a significant step towards accountability for Russia’s actions. The commission has already received over 80,000 applications. The EU has pledged its support for the commission’s activities, including an initial contribution of one million euros.
