Netanyahu to Discuss Gaza Future with Trump Amid Ceasefire Concerns

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Benjamin Netanyahu will hold a pivotal meeting on Thursday to discuss the evolving situation in Gaza. The meeting comes ahead of Netanyahu’s trip to the United States to meet with President Donald Trump.
The Israeli military is expected to present two scenarios: implementing the second phase of Trump’s plan for Gaza or resuming extensive military operations. Sources indicate that developments in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran are all closely tied to the outcome of the Netanyahu-Trump meeting.
Hebrew sources claim Washington is exerting increasing pressure to advance to the second phase of the ceasefire. While security agencies are reportedly preparing operational options for a renewed military campaign, they are also considering aspects of Trump’s plan, including fully reopening the Rafah crossing, deploying international forces, and initiating Gaza’s reconstruction. However, Tel Aviv has expressed significant reservations about disarming Hamas and the role of international forces.
Donald Trump has commented on recent developments in Gaza, stating that ceasefire violations are “under review.” He also announced plans to establish a “Peace Council” to govern Gaza post-conflict, slated to be introduced in early 2026.
Network 13 also reports that Trump is seeking a trilateral meeting with Netanyahu and the President of Egypt, focusing on the future of Gaza and the situation in Iran.
The initial phase of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel commenced on October 10, 2025. However, Tel Aviv has repeatedly violated the agreement and linked the start of the second phase negotiations to conditions, including the issue of prisoners.
