Haaretz: Gaza War Fallout Still Grips Israel

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a report in Haaretz highlights the continuing impact of the Gaza war on Israel, challenging the notion that a lull in fighting signals an end to the political and social costs.
The newspaper points out that cultural and academic boycotts against Israel remain in place, posing a significant threat to the regime’s international position. Haaretz suggests that Israel’s image among leading cultural and academic circles worldwide remains deeply negative.
According to the report, opposition to the Gaza war outside of occupied Palestine has, in many instances, morphed into opposition to the very existence and structure of the occupation of Israel. This trend presents a more profound challenge than temporary political pressures.
Haaretz identifies the main danger as the increasing isolation of Israel in scientific and cultural arenas. It warns that this trend could lead to reduced innovation, limited scientific collaboration, and an accelerated brain drain.
Since the onset of the Gaza war, a wave of global protests against the Zionist regime has spurred widespread cultural and academic sanctions and restrictions in Europe and the United States.
In recent months, several universities, research institutions, and artistic organizations have suspended or restricted their cooperation with Israeli institutions. Simultaneously, numerous reports have surfaced indicating increased pressure on Zionist researchers and scientists and a decline in the regime’s participation in international scientific projects.
