Trump’s Gaza Plan Falters: Only Two Nations Offer Conditional Support

Only Indonesia and Italy have conditionally agreed to join Donald Trump’s plan to deploy forces to the Gaza Strip, according to an Israeli newspaper report. The plan has faced widespread reluctance from the international community.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, an Israeli newspaper, Israel Hayom, reports that most countries are unwilling to participate in Donald Trump’s initiative to send troops to the Gaza Strip. Only Indonesia and Italy have expressed conditional readiness.

Turkey had previously offered its participation, but Tel Aviv rejected the inclusion of Turkish forces in the Gaza Strip, the report noted.

The initial phase of the international force deployment would see troops stationed in the Israeli-occupied southern Gaza Strip, specifically at a base being constructed in Rafah.

The newspaper acknowledged that the mission’s precise nature remains undefined. Italy’s agreement followed pressure from the United States, contingent on avoiding engagement with Hamas forces. Indonesia has stipulated a similar condition.

Trump had claimed widespread support for his plan, asserting that nearly 60 nations had pledged involvement.
