Ukrainian MP: Every Ukrainian Citizen Owes Over $8,000

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, former Ukrainian parliament speaker Dmytro Razumkov, in an interview with Apostrophe TV, announced that current economic indicators show Ukraine is bankrupt and each citizen now owes more than $8,000.
According to the Ukrainian MP, irresponsible government actions have plunged Ukraine into significant debt.
Razumkov stated that Ukraine’s total debt now exceeds 100% of its GDP, meaning the country owes more than it produces in a year, a level that he believes indicates bankruptcy during peacetime.
He attributed the country’s rapid public debt growth not only to military actions, but also to management errors, inefficient resource utilization, and corruption.
According to the former speaker, the government could have reduced the debt burden but did not, and the Ministry of Finance did not pursue debt reduction negotiations that began in 2022. Instead, it decided to pass the responsibility onto the people by continuously increasing taxes and creating new ones, shifting the debt burden onto citizens.
Earlier, another member of the Ukrainian parliament, Nina Yuzhanina, announced that Ukraine’s national debt exceeded $191 billion by September of this year, which is three times the amount at the beginning of 2022.
The Ukrainian publication Ekonomicheskaya Pravda has predicted that Ukraine’s public debt will reach 110% of the country’s GDP this year.
