Armenia and France Sign 2026 Defense Cooperation Plan

Armenia and France have solidified their defense ties by signing a defense cooperation plan for 2026, encompassing various areas of armed forces collaboration. The agreement was finalized during strategic defense consultations held in Paris.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Armenian Ministry of Defense announced in a press statement that a delegation from Yerevan, led by Levon Ayvazyan, head of the Defense Policy and International Cooperation Department, participated in bilateral strategic defense consultations between Armenia and France on December 15 and 16 in Paris.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense stated that Ayvazyan met with Guillaume Olanier, the newly appointed Director of the International Relations Group in the French Ministry of Armed Forces, and held discussions with Lieutenant General Eric Pelletier, Deputy Director of the same group.

The ministry’s statement added that the work done in 2025 within the framework of mutual cooperation was reviewed and plans for the coming year were explained. Both sides emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation strategically and institutionally. Following these consultations, the Armenia-France defense cooperation plan for 2026 was signed, including dozens of activities in almost all areas of the armed forces. It was also decided that the next strategic defense consultations would be held in Yerevan.
