German Chancellor Friedrich Merz Condemns Russia’s Aggression, Reaffirms Two-State Solution

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has issued a sharp rebuke of Russia’s actions in Ukraine, linking European security directly to the conflict’s outcome.
Speaking on Wednesday, Merz stated, “Russia has launched a brutal war of aggression not only against Ukraine but also against Europe,” emphasizing the far-reaching implications of the conflict. He asserted that the result of the war in Ukraine will determine the future of peace in Europe, adding that Russia carries out daily attacks, including espionage and sabotage, across Europe, and is seeking to expand its influence beyond its borders into European countries.
The German Chancellor called for the European Union to leverage frozen Russian assets to intensify pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also reaffirmed Germany‘s commitment to a two-state solution as the only viable path to peaceful coexistence between Israel and Palestinians.
Merz stated that Israel’s settlement policy is unacceptable and violates international law. His remarks highlight Germany’s firm stance on both the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Israeli-Palestinian issue.
