German Parliament Approves €50 Billion for Defense Contracts Amid Ukraine War

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the German Parliament’s budget committee approved more than €50 billion ($58.60 billion USD) in defense contracts on Wednesday, earmarked for spending over the next several years.
The move, driven by concerns surrounding the war in Ukraine, reflects Berlin’s commitment to bolster its military capabilities.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius told reporters in Berlin that the decision puts the government and parliament on track to fulfill ambitious defense commitments.
The approved package, the largest ever for the German armed forces, will fund a wide range of equipment, including military apparel, tanks, drones, and satellites.
