Iraqi Defense Ministry Denies Explosion at Balad Air Base

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense has denied reports circulating about an explosion at Balad Air Base, specifically the Martyr Muhammad Alaa Air Base in Salah al-Din province.
In a statement released Wednesday, the ministry stated that the news shared on social media regarding explosions within the base is false. The statement emphasized the base’s complete security and the absence of any incidents affecting its normal operations.
The ministry urged media outlets to exercise caution and accuracy in their reporting, directing them to rely on official sources within the ministry for information.
Furthermore, the statement declared that legal measures would be taken against parties spreading false information and inciting public fear.
Prior to this announcement, an unnamed security source had also dismissed claims of an explosion at the air base, suggesting that any sounds heard were likely due to ongoing military exercises.
