China: No Compromise or Retreat on Taiwan

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui declared that the Taiwan issue is a core element of China‘s interests and a red line. Zhang Hanhui emphasized that Taiwan is strictly an internal matter for China, and no foreign country has the right to interfere.
The ambassador asserted that Beijing will neither back down nor compromise on the issue. These statements come as the Taiwanese Ministry of Defense announced that the U.S. government is moving forward with a $11.1 billion arms sale to the island.
According to the ministry, this package represents the largest arms deal between the United States and Taiwan to date. The sale, which is reportedly the second such deal under President Donald Trump’s administration, includes eight categories of weaponry.
The proposed package features HIMARS missile systems, artillery, anti-armor missiles, drones, and components for other military equipment. The Taiwanese Defense Ministry stated that the United States continues to assist Taiwan in maintaining sufficient defense capabilities, rapidly building effective deterrence, and leveraging the benefits of asymmetric warfare.
The ministry further claimed that this support forms the basis for maintaining regional peace and stability.
