Clashes Erupt in Occupied Jerusalem: 10 Police Officers Injured

A clash between Israeli police and ultra-Orthodox Jews in occupied Jerusalem has left ten officers injured. The unrest was triggered by the arrest of a Haredi man who evaded mandatory military service, escalating tensions in the city.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, clashes in occupied Jerusalem between Israeli police forces and Haredi Jews have resulted in injuries to ten police officers. The confrontations, marked by direct physical altercations, prompted the Israeli police to arrest four Haredi individuals.

Hebrew media outlets reported that the intensity of the unrest necessitated a request for helicopter support to manage the clashes and disperse the crowds.

The unrest began following the arrest of a Haredi Jew who had allegedly avoided mandatory military service. The situation quickly escalated into widespread clashes in the vicinity of the arrest.

Yair Lapid, the head of the opposition, criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu’s cabinet, stating that the Haredi unrest in Jerusalem underscores the cabinet’s incompetence and the weakening of Israeli security institutions.

Avigdor Lieberman, leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, commented that draft dodgers are attacking police in Jerusalem because the Israeli leadership is controlled by the Haredim.
