Russia Warns of Nuclear Test Response if US Resumes

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia has warned that Russia would respond appropriately if the United States resumes nuclear testing. Valery Gerasimov also highlighted concerns over US missile deployment plans and escalating tensions involving European allies of Kyiv.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia has issued a stark warning regarding potential nuclear testing by the United States, stating it will respond in kind should the US resume such activities.

Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, voiced concerns over what he described as a new level of instability arising from the United States’ consideration of deploying missiles with ranges exceeding 1,000 kilometers in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe.

Gerasimov further stated that European allies of Kyiv are intensifying the conflict, creating global risks. He identified the collective West as the primary source of escalating military threats to Russia’s security.

The buildup of NATO’s military capabilities near Russia’s borders, according to Gerasimov, poses a long-term challenge to Russian interests. He noted that NATO has maintained the scale and intensity of its exercises near Russia’s borders and is accelerating the deployment of its auxiliary forces.

Gerasimov noted that over the past four years, financial aid to Ukraine has exceeded $550 billion. Kyiv has received over a thousand tanks, 200 aircraft and helicopters, and approximately 100,000 drones from foreign partners. More than 224,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained in European training centers.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia stated that approximately 30,000 Ukrainian armed forces personnel are deserting each month. Kyiv lost over 76,000 of its most highly trained military personnel in the Kursk region.

Valery Gerasimov also announced that the air defense and missile defense unit formed in the Russian Aerospace Forces has been equipped with the S-500 anti-aircraft missile system.
