Russia Threatens Multinational Forces in Ukraine Amid Rising Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Russian Foreign Ministry has warned that Western forces in Ukraine, even those designated as “peacekeepers,” would be considered legitimate targets by Russian forces.
In a statement, the ministry condemned the deployment of Western troops on Ukrainian soil. The ministry also criticized the European Union’s establishment of a committee to evaluate damages incurred in Ukraine, asserting that Moscow views the participation of European countries in this committee as an unfriendly action that will only escalate the situation.
The statement emphasized Russia’s readiness for practical dialogue with the current U.S. administration but accused the European coalition of planning to occupy Ukraine rather than focusing on resolving the crisis.
Additionally, the ministry declared that the international committee for war-related claims in Ukraine, initiated by certain European powers, lacks legal authority from Russia and represents an attempt by European nations to expand anti-Russian activities.
These statements followed Europe’s launch on Tuesday of the international committee for war-related claims concerning Ukraine, aimed at securing compensation for Kyiv’s hundreds of billions of dollars in war-related damages.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a session of the International Cooperation Committee of the General Council of the United Russia party, stated that the issue of holding elections in Ukraine raises questions regarding the organization’s mechanisms and the West’s role in managing them.
Lavrov elaborated that the West has not abandoned its methods of interfering in the internal affairs of independent countries, with such intervention now taking on an electoral nature, constituting a form of “neo-colonialism.”
