ICC Condemns US Sanctions Against Its Judges Over Israel Investigation

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued a statement strongly condemning the United States’ imposition of new sanctions against two of the court’s judges.
The ICC’s statement asserts that the U.S. sanctions constitute a blatant attack on the independence of an impartial judicial institution.
The international judicial body warned that actions targeting the judges and prosecutors elected by member countries of the court undermine the rule of law.
The ICC emphasized its commitment to continuing cooperation with all partners to ensure the effective and independent execution of its mission.
The Dutch Foreign Minister also announced condemnation of the new United States sanctions against the International Criminal Court, stating support for the ICC and its right to perform its duties without obstruction.
The U.S. State Department announced the sanctions against the two ICC judges earlier today, citing what it called the “unlawful targeting of Israel.”
