US Approves $136 Million Military Equipment Sale to NATO

The US State Department has approved a potential $136.1 million sale of military equipment, including Stinger missile system components, to the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, according to the Pentagon.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced on Thursday that the State Department has approved the possible sale of spare parts for Stinger missile systems and related equipment to the NATO Support and Procurement Agency.

The deal is estimated to be worth approximately $136.1 million.

PTI Technologies and L3 Harris will be the primary contractors for this sale.

Demand for Stinger systems, still a key tool against aircraft and drones, has surged since the start of the war in Ukraine.

The system is designed to engage low-flying aerial targets that threaten ground forces.

European countries and Ukraine have utilized these missiles to counter Russian drones and helicopters.
