Medvedev Slams EU Summit on Russian Assets as a ‘Thieves’ Gathering

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, described the European Union summit on Russian assets as a “thieves’ gathering.” Medvedev asserted that Europe has not abandoned its plans to seize Russian assets but has temporarily gone silent on the matter.
Separately, Kirill Dmitriev, Special Envoy of Vladimir Putin for Investment and Economic Cooperation, commented on the EU leaders’ decision to finance Ukraine through loans rather than using seized Russian assets. Dmitriev stated that law and reason had prevailed.
Dmitriev posted on X, noting that it was a major blow to EU warmongers led by Ursula von der Leyen, and the voices of reason in the EU prohibited the illegal use of Russian assets to finance Ukraine.
EU leaders convened on Friday and agreed to provide a 90 billion euro loan to Ukraine to address its impending budget deficit. However, they did not reach a consensus on utilizing frozen Russian assets to secure these funds.
