Gaza: Disease Outbreak Threatens Displaced Persons Amidst Continued Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a dire warning has been issued regarding the escalating health crisis among displaced persons in Gaza. Bassam Zaqout, director of the Gaza Medical Relief Organization, in an interview with Al Jazeera, highlighted the alarming spread of diseases within the refugee population.
Zaqout reported a significant surge in communicable diseases among those displaced, noting that illnesses such as cholera and polio are spreading at an alarming rate. He emphasized the critical lack of resources and medical equipment, which is severely hindering efforts to combat the increasing disease outbreaks.
Zaqout also stated that the Zionist regime is preventing the entry of even the most basic medical supplies and equipment into the Gaza Strip, pushing the healthcare system to a critical breaking point.
This health crisis unfolds against a backdrop of continued violations of the ceasefire, including artillery attacks by the occupying Zionist regime’s army on eastern Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of three Palestinians, including a woman.
