Putin Claims Russian Forces Advancing Rapidly in Ukraine Amid Peace Talk Standoff

Russian President Vladimir Putin asserted that Russian forces are making swift advancements in Ukraine, particularly in Zaporozhye, while simultaneously accusing Kyiv of obstructing peaceful resolutions to the conflict.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, stated that he has not observed any willingness from Kyiv to engage in peace talks regarding Ukraine. Putin affirmed Russia’s readiness to conduct discussions aimed at resolving the Ukrainian crisis based on the principles outlined in June 2024.

Putin expressed Russia’s desire to end the conflict in Ukraine through peaceful means, while alleging that Ukraine is currently opposed to a peaceful resolution. He claimed Russian forces are rapidly advancing in Zaporozhye, liberating residential areas, and asserted control over more than 50% of Krasnoarmeisk, with advancements on all fronts.

Putin stated that Russian forces are progressing along the front lines in the special military operation zone. He added that approximately 3,500 Ukrainian soldiers have been encircled near Kupyansk, and Russian forces have entered Hulyaypole, advancing quickly in the Zaporozhye direction.

He dismissed the possibility of the Ukrainian army regaining lost ground in Krasnoarmeisk, citing significant losses inflicted by effective Russian armed forces, leaving them without reserve forces.

Responding to a video by Zelensky, Putin stated he does not watch Zelensky’s videos. He remarked that Zelensky used to be a brilliant actor. Putin questioned why Zelensky did not enter Kupyansk and film from there if it were under Ukrainian control.

The Russian President condemned the European Union’s attempts to seize Russian assets as theft.

Putin predicted substantial successes for Russian forces before the end of the year. He claimed that 15 Ukrainian battalions are encircled in the Kupyansk region with no escape. He reported that Dmitrov is entirely encircled, with 50% reportedly under Russian control, and that Ukrainian forces have not received orders to surrender, attempting to retreat in small groups. Putin added that they are advancing towards Zaporozhye in the east, liberating cities, having crossed the Guliai-Pole River, with significant units continuing their advance.

He emphasized that the Chief of Staff and local commanders have announced the capture of Seversk, enabling movement towards Slavyansk. Fighting is ongoing on the Krasnolimansk front, with 50% under Russian control.

Putin asserted that the strategic initiative was transferred to the Russian armed forces after pushing back Ukrainian forces from the Kursk region, leading to Russian advancements along the entire contact line as Ukrainian forces retreat.

Putin reiterated that the Kyiv regime refuses to end the crisis peacefully, but Russia has observed signals indicating their readiness for some dialogue, reiterating their readiness to peacefully resolve the crisis by addressing its fundamental roots, as proposed in June 2024.
